Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal is a trained professional who assists lawyers in preparing for real estate closings. They are responsible for drafting sale, purchase, and loan documents, completing agreements, conducting research, answering to client inquiries, and completing tasks as assigned by attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from contracts and loan commitments through closing and post-closing.
- Assist with commercial real estate due diligence, including title and survey reviews, title objection letters, lease reviews, municipal lien searches, and UCC, judgment, litigation, and lien searches.
- Prepare closing checklists, critical dates timelines, closing statements, title and other affidavits, entity consents and resolutions.
- Responsible for recording documents and preparing closing document books and assisting with other aspects of the transactions as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Experienced commercial real estate paralegal with 2-5 years desired working in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certification preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate detailed and complex information to others.
- Knowledge of title insurance, abstracts, entity documents, and loan documents.
- Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
- Problem solving, analytical and research skills.
- Motivated self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work both independently and as a part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about inside an office building as needed for files and documents.
- Ability to commute to the Vestal Office location.
- Ability to lift up to ten pounds.
